List of Registered Teams

Draw Information

• Draws will be posted at the beach for the morning of the event. All teams should arrive at the beach ready to play and attend our players meeting to start the day

Tournament Format

• 2-Star events (formerly called Pro events) will consist of AAA and AA divisions and 1-Star events (formerly called Am events) will consist of A and B divisions
• Placement into each division (AAA or AA / A or B) will be based on participation points. Once in a division, teams will be re-ranked based on average finish. Participation points are as follows:
  • AAA (1st-16th) 16
  • AA (17th and lower) 8
  • A (1st-16th) 4
  • B (17th and lower) 2
• Please note that AAA players are not permitted to participate in 1-Star events, no matter who their partner is

Seeding/Ranking

• Once in a division, teams will be re-seeded based on the following criteria:
  • Total ranking points (average finishes) from the last year (2018) and the current year (2019). In the case of a tie, more weight will be placed on the most recent event
  • Subjective seeding by the Volleyball BC Players Committee. Volleyball BC reserves the right to make final decisions on seeding
  

Partner Changes

• Partners can be changed until the Monday 12:00 p.m. noon registration deadline. To change your partner, please update your team name online.
• After the tournament deadline, it will cost $25 to change your partner and an email must be sent to adult@volleyballbc.org to request a partner switch with the following information:
  • Reason for switch
  • Original partner name (first and last)
  • New partner name (first and last)

Withdrawal Policy

• Teams may withdraw prior to the Monday 12:00 p.m. (noon) registration deadline minus a $25 admin fee Notification of cancellation must be sent to adult@volleyballbc.org  with the following information:
  • Name of both teammates (first and last)
  • Tournament date
  • Name for the refund cheque and mailing address
• If a team requests a refund because they were bumped to an amateur event, they will not be charged the admin fee

2019 Results

Tournament Size

• The tournament will be capped at 32 teams. This will be based on participation points (See Tournament Format).
• If there are more than the maximum number of teams registered, teams with the lowest participation points will be bumped into the corresponding 1-Star tournament. Teams will be notified of this on Friday afternoon, after the 12:00 p.m. (noon) registration deadline. Teams would also receive a partial refund for the difference in price, as 2-Star tournaments cost more than 1-Star tournaments

Wild Card Process

• Teams can apply for a wild card berth. Wild card applications will be accepted and approved throughout the tournament registration process, up until the Friday 12:00 p.m. (noon) registration deadline
• The Volleyball BC Players Committee will discuss all applications and approve wild cards as needed

Cash Prizing

• Prizing by division (Men's and Women's)
  • First Place: $720
  • Second Place: $360
  • Third Place: $170

2019 Results

Tournament Size

• The tournament will be capped at 24 teams for both the Men’s and Women’s divisions
• If the 2-Star event is full, some teams may be bumped into the 1-Star event. If this occurs and the event is at capacity, a team may be bumped from the 1-Star event

  • First Place: Wilson Volleyball
  • Second Place: VBC Swag
  • Third Place: VBC Swag
• Tier 2 Men's and Women's (Depending on amount of teams)
