Volleyball BC is excited to bring back The Vancouver Open in 2022!
The Vancouver Open is the marquee event of The Beach Tour, presented by Natura Solutions. The 29th edition of the annual three-day event will feature the best beach volleyball players from Canada, North America and worldwide. Up for grabs at The Vancouver Open is $40,000 US—the largest prize purse for a Canadian beach volleyball tournament.
Olympians and Canadian national team members who have played in The Beach Tour and The Vancouver Open previously include Jamie Broder, Josh Binstock, Sam Schachter, Martin Reader, Ben Saxton, Sam Pedlow and Grant O'Gorman.
The top 24 teams per gender qualify for the Main Draw, while the remaining eight open slots are determined by a qualifier tournament held on the Friday prior. At the end of the event, the champions of The Beach Tour 2022 will be crowned.
Youth can also play at The Vancouver Open, thanks to our 14U and 16U beach tournaments with a similar playing format.
The top 24 teams per gender qualify for the Main Draw by FIVB results, VBC points and Wildcard selections. For the remaining eight open slots per gender, a qualifier is held on the Friday of the event weekend. The 14U and 16U youth divisions run using a very similar format—see the Youth Open below for more details.
Registration for The Vancouver Open ends on Sunday, June 26 at 12:00 a.m. (midnight).
